I am going to lose my shopping card. Not for lack of trying. After checking out of the hotel, I even took a taxi to a popular shopping area Chiada. Most shops were international brands, like Kors, Benetton, etc.
So I checked out a church and the metro.
Rua Liberdad a main street has all the high end shops you could want, Armani, Versace, etc. Spersed in between are small shops, primarily pastry shops.
In Chiada the only thing I saw was a small stand with items made of cork. Most interesting was the umbrellas. I considered one of the small purses until I saw the price: 69 Euros. I can do without. Anything else was made in China!
The only thing I will be taking from Portugal is memories and photos. Very unusual for me as most of you know.
