Day tour to Sintra, Cabo do Roca, and Cascais

Starting with some of today's photos:
The famous pastry of Belem

Street view

Hard Rock, the site for meeting up for the Tour. We were loaded into small vans. There were six of us, a couple from Ontario, a woman from Toronto and a French couple. Our tour guide did double duty in having to do both English and French.

The walk up to the Palace

We walked up to this palace, the Palacio Nacional de Pena

A close up

Note all the details of the gargoyle

The Atlantic ocean in the background. On one of the terraces of the Palace

Remnants of the monastery

A cork tree. The menu cover at the hotel is made of cork. Purses of cork are sold in all the tourist spots.

Lighthouse at the most western point of Continental Europe

The Beach at Cascais

Really good ice cream in Cascais. The strawberry was amazing...almost like crushed strawberries in it.

Complementary appetizer at Open, in the Inspirita Santa Marta hotel. Broad beans, smoked ham, tomatoes and sprig of cilantro.

The best risotto I have ever had. Shrimp and lime.
